Steven Blashfield
Steven Blashfield, AIA, LEED AP is a licensed architect with Chip Webster & Associates. He is certified by NCARB (National Council of Architectural Registration Boards), and is  a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professional. Steven has been living and working on Nantucket island since 1997, and has completed over one hundred projects on the island, ranging from single family homes to a new private school. He holds a Master of Architecture degree and a Master of Science degree in Historic Preservation from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor of Science degree in Design from Clemson University.  He served for five years as an appointed member of Nantucket HDC’s Historic Structures Advisory Board and specializes in historic preservation projects for his firm. Prior to relocating to Nantucket, Steven completed a HABS survey of the Edward Allen Auditorium in Sitka, AK, which was subsequently given national recognition on the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Eleven Most Endangered List in 1999. He also served as Editorial Assistant for Leland Roth’s publication Building at the End of the Oregon Trail (1997). Small Friends on Nantucket, Inc. will be his first LEED certified project.

Chip Webster & Associates 
Chip Webster & Associates (CWA) is an architectural design and consulting firm specializing in custom residential and commercial design, with a special interest in environmental design and master planning for communities. Founded in 1991 and based on Nantucket Island, CWA has additional offices in Boston and Boulder, CO. Services include all aspects of the design process, from concept development to construction management. With over fifteen years of experience, they understand the importance of working within a client's budget while designing quality structures that fulfill client's goals. Chip Webster & Associates, develops unique designs through our comprehensive approach by encompassing the desires of the client, the requirements of local agencies and the opportunities of the site. Successful design is the result of close collaboration between architect and client.

CWA projects have ranged in scope from classic island cottages to a 300-acre private community. Designs reflect a strong attention to detail, an efficient use of space, and a creative richness. They take pride in developing strong and continued relationships with clients, and providing a personalized approach with every project. Extensive experience with Nantucket design and building requirements, arguably among the most stringent in the United States, has allowed CWA to successfully navigate the regulatory process on projects throughout the country. In addition to projects in Massachusetts and on Nantucket, they have received design commissions in fourteen states.

JK Scanlan Company, Inc.
John Scanlan started the JK Scanlan Company in 1984. In less than 25 years, the JK Scanlan company have grown into one of the largest commercial contracting firms in Massachusetts with over 60 employees doing projects in 8 states. the company headquarters is in the Falmouth Technology Park in Falmouth, Massachusetts.
